Rev. Ashley Cook, Vicar

As priest, Ashley oversees and is the pastor for the people of St. Paul's, Woodville. She supports lay ministry, gives pastoral care, preaches, teaches, plans and leads worship, and administrates church and school. She works bivocationally, and is also the community education director at Harold's House in Lufkin, a children's advocacy center, where she specializes in child abuse prevention and healthy parenting. Ashley is two-time graduate in theological studies for the Diaconate and the Priesthood at The Iona School for Ministry, in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication-Summa Cum Laude from Stephen F. Austin University. Ashley responded to God's call to ordained ministry after seven years as a journalist in East Texas, and served three years as a full-time hospice chaplain before beginning child advocacy. She was born on a military base in Rota, Spain, and graduated from Brazoswood High School in Brazoria County, Texas. Ashley has been married to her husband, Steve, for 25 years, and they have two children, William and Sarah. The family shares their life with two shelter rescue cats.

  Jim Lazenby, Music Minister

Jim is the Minister of Music at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He enjoys the privilege of working with a small, enthusiastic group of people, dedicated to providing the best possible music for worship services to the Glory of God. Jim began directing church choirs as a junior in high school. He's taught music in Texas and Oklahoma, and directed choirs ranging from kindergarten through adults. Jim has also worked with bell choirs, recorder ensembles, and instrumental ensembles in addition to composing and arranging music. Jim is a 1964 graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, with a Bachelor of Sacred Music. He received his Masters of Music education from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. Jim and his wife Glenda will be celebrating 50 years of marriage this June. Both are retired teachers. They have 2 married children and 1 grandson (Ian).

   Shelia Foster, Sexton

Sheila graciously assists St. Paul's in maintaining its welcoming presence through caring for the custodial upkeep of our worship space and Parish Hall. Shelia comes to us from a sister church in the community. She does her ministry with an obvious and frequently shared love for the Lord, a servant's heart, and a cheerful disposition that is a gift to everyone she meets.
